New planning legislation now requires that permission should be sought before constructing a new paved, tarmac, concrete or other hard surface area in your front garden.  The objectives of this new legislation are to encourage the use of permeable surfaces, reduce surface water run off and strains on drainage systems and to reduce the impact that hard surfaces have on ecosystems.  If you are thinking of putting a hard surface on your front garden please check with South Norfolk Council first to ensure you are meeting the current regulations.
